FVLC Campaign Training in Chilliwack:
Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at the Chilliwack Teachers Association from 10am-4pm. Register Here!
This training is open to all FVLC delegates, union members and community members looking to get involved in upcoming campaigns such as the fast approaching municipal election. This training is free and open to all. You must register to attend. Facebook event Here!
BCFed Regional Conference, Cumberland, BC:
Thursday, June 21st to Sunday, June 24th, 2018
As decided at our April meeting, the FVLC will cover up to 2 registration costs for delegates looking to attend the Regional Conference in Cumberland - note this covers registration only - it does not cover travel, wages, accommodation, meals, etc. We want to be able to provide an opportunity for those planning on attending Miners Memorial to also attend the BCFed renewal conference. If you are interested email: email@example.com an expression of interest by Friday, May 11th at 5pm. Criteria is based on past attendance and participation in FVLC meetings and events. If approval criteria is not met by any delegate applying, one or none FVLC delegates will be awarded this opportunity.
Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW) in Sonoma, California:
This educational opportunity takes place from Tuesday, July 10th to Saturday, July 14th, 2018.
The FVLC is offering up to 2 scholarships to attend. The scholarship includes registration, accommodation and meals during the event. It does not include wages, travel and meals getting to and from the event. If you are interested email: firstname.lastname@example.org an expression of interest by Friday, May 11th at 5pm. Approval criteria is based on past attendance and participation in FVLC meetings and events. If approval criteria is not met by any delegate applying, one or none FVLC delegates will be awarded the opportunity.
CLC Education Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any union member or child/dependent of a union member under the age of 30, this $2,500 scholarship is offered in recognition of the efforts and commitment of young workers across Canada who have demonstrated a commitment to positively impacting social and workplace issues in their community. The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, June 1, 2018.
